
Hyundai Palisade was selected as the 2019 AWAK Car of the Year. The 2019 AWAK Car of the Year, Hyundai Palisade, selected by the Automobile Writers' Association of Korea(AWAK) (Chairman Young-sun Hah), ranked first in design, performance, convenience/safety, economy, and innovation among 11 finalists.
The Hyundai Palisade ranked first with a total score of 5628.5 points, the Kia K9 ranked second with 5526, and the Hyundai Veloster N third with 5511.5 points. Prior to the selection of the Car of the Year, the association finished detailed comparisons including a performance vehicle test at the Pocheon Raceway in Gyeonggi-do on the 27th of last month.

Volkswagen Arteon was selected for this year's design, proving its excellent design. The Hyundai Palisade was selected as the SUV of the Year following the Car of the Year, winning two crowns. Hyundai Nexo was selected for this year's Environment Friendliness, and Veloster N was selected as this year's performance. The awards ceremony will be held on the 23rd.
In this year's design category, the Hyundai Palisade, Nexo, and Renault Samsung Clio competed until the end, and in this year's Environment-Friendly category, the Honda Accord Hybrid fought against the Hyundai Nexo. In this year's performance category, the Camaro SS and Porsche Panamera 4E Hybrid scored relatively high.

Moreover, the Automobile Writers' Association of Korea has selected the Kia Stinger in 2018, Renault Samsung Motors SM6 in 2017, Hyundai Motor Avante in 2016, Infiniti Q50 in 2015, Mercedes-Benz S-Class in 2014, Kia Motors K9, and Lexus New ES in 2013 as its 'Car of the Year.'
